Avoiding sudden temperature changes is only one of the measures that must be taken.
Acute respiratory diseases are the first cause of medical consultation during the cold months, and cause of most hospitalizations in this period, especially in children under 5 years of age.
They are classified into two types: upper respiratory diseases, which involve the nose, mouth, ears and throat, generating clinical conditions such as rhino pharyngitis or common cold, tonsillitis, laryngitis, sinusitis and Otis; and lower respiratory diseases, which affect the bronchi and lungs, and result in bronchitis, bronchitis, asthma, coquettish or pneumonia.
These diseases can be prevented by following the following tips:
1. Ventilate the house daily
2. No smoking at home
3. Avoid environmental pollutants inside the home, such as firewood, coal or paraffin
4. Do not place containers with liquids on the stoves
5. Avoid sudden temperature changes
